High-performance aluminium topcoat, with metallic aluminium white effect RAL 9006 for interior and exterior use.
RD-Aquafinish 96 is an innovative finishing paint that provides an elegant and modern metallic aluminium white appearance (RAL 9006) on a wide variety of substrates: metal claddings, sandwich panels or steel sheets, garage doors, machinery, furniture, equipment, and many more.
It is generally used as a topcoat over our anticorrosion systems – RD-Monoguard, RD-Speedcoat Aqua, RD-Multiprim, RD-Metal Unicoat, RD-Elastometal – or, depending on the substrate, applied directly onto it.
Its single-component waterborne formulation makes it particularly easy to apply, fast drying, safer to use, and more environmentally friendly.
For a uniform and aesthetic finish, it is recommended to apply RD-Aquafinish by spray, ensuring perfect distribution of the metallic pigments and an optimal visual effect.

USE:
High performance interior and exterior metallic effect enamel with superior properties.
FEATURES:
RD-Aquafinish 96 is a single-component topcoat based on acrylic and polyurethane resins that offers a hard flexible and wear resistant white aluminium film effect that can be used for decorative and protective purposes.
RD-Aquafinish 96 is water-based, easy to handle, safe and has no fire risks.
It is a fast-drying coating system that greatly reduces downtime during installation.
Virtually odour free, it does not affect neighbouring occupants and can therefore be used in occupied buildings.
RD-Aquafinish 96 creates a nice and smooth finish. Thanks to its high-quality aluminium pigments, it offers very good resistance to humidity and has a very good outdoor durability.

Choose a RAL 7040 for the color of the primer for better performance.
If the surface will be subject to chemical spills, high wear, or abrasion, apply one or two coats of RD-Hydrograff HP Clear as finish.
Indicated consumption is theoretical and does not consider potential losses during application. It can also be influenced by the porosity of the substrate.
Application instructions
APPLICATION CONDITIONS:
Ambient temperature: minimum 5°C (41°F) – Optimal between 12 and 25°C (54 and 77°F).
Relative humidity: maximum 80%
Surface temperature must be minimum 3°C (5°F) above dew point.
APPLICATION MEANS:
Can be applied by brush, roller, or low-pressure pneumatic spray gun (nozzle opening: 1.8 mm).
Compatible with airless spray systems, equipped for example with a 012 tip (such as Graco FFLP 412) and a maximum pressure of 150 bar.
For optimal results, spray application is recommended. It is advisable to test the application system on a flat surface before starting the actual work.
It is important to maintain a consistent distance between the spray gun and the surface, avoid over-atomization, and prevent applying overly thick coats to ensure a smooth and uniform finish.
PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:
Preparation will depend on the kind of substrate. In general, the surface must first be coated with a primer, clean and degreased prior to applying RD-Aquafinish 96.

Touch dry: +/- 1h30 hour
Dry: +/- 2 hours
Recoatable: +/- 4 hours
